Chris McHolm resides in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada. He lives with his son (Artie), wife (Tessa), and two dogs (George & Zula).
He is a counsellor by trade (during the day) and painter by night. Chris believes his work with people during the day highly influences his art. Art has always been for him a way to express his inner voice.
Chris is highly influenced by minimal work. «I live in the mountains and much of my work represents this. My approach is to come into the painting with no agenda and to see where it goes. This turns out good at times and not so good on other times. My work usually has a ‘rough’ quality to it that I like. I try to connect rough with beauty.», Chris affirms.
We came across Chris’s work almost by chance. We fell in love with the fresh, unpretentious and quite playful air that his work conveyed to us and we decided to support the creations of this amateur artist, which act as friendly reminders of not taking ourselves too seriously, and connecting with our inner child.
