In parallel to her profession as a fashion designer, Lola Mayeras developed a creative universe in which she uses clay as the main material. She approaches her design process as she would a clothing collection, combining recognizable shapes and objects in fun and colorful new designs.
Inspired by her ceramist father and imbued with the light of southern France, Lola Mayeras creates each piece in her collection by hand. Her first series grew out of combining vivid colors and devious shapes in a whimsical joyful universe.
A multidisciplinary artist, Lola Mayeras grew up in Vallauris and discovered ceramics since childhood in the traditional workshop of the family home in Callian in Pays de Fayence. Initiated by her father into crafts and creation, Lola developed an interest in shape and color from an early age. She studied fashion in Paris where she practiced as a stylist and then as chief designer for 5 years. It was in March 2020, during the lockdown, that Lola redescovered her father’s workshop, when he was about to retire. Instinctively, she appropriated the wheel, the clay and the kiln and created her first ceramic collection.
